The Journal of Old Turkic Studies (JOTS) / Zeitschrift für Alttürkische Studien (ZfAS) is an international peer-reviewed journal devoted to the interdisciplinary study of Medieval Turkic languages, texts, history, culture, and literature, with a particular focus on Turkestan and related regions. It publishes methodologically rigorous research in philology, history, cultural studies, and literary studies.

The journal is published three times a year and may also feature special issues. Manuscripts are accepted in English, German, Turkish, and French and undergo double-blind peer review.

Research articles are by subscription, while reviews are open access.
